Architect designed yoga school including shop front
This project involved investigatory work to determine the structure of the walls, working with engineers to design a structural suitable but affordable solution to opening a ground floor space holding a 5 story apartment block above it to rejuvenate a Bondi icon, the Dharma Shala original Bondi Yoga School into a large modern temple like yoga and meditation school.
The general builder’s scope included propping of the walls above and ceiling, making the building safeprior to demolition of existing walls and inserting fire rated structural beams, pouring reinforced concrete slab, resurfacing walls, structural beams and ceiling with fire rated gyprock, tiling and fitting out WCS with copper fittings, painting, installation of all surface mounted traditional recycled coper bathroom ware and copper LED lighting. Use of recycled timber to clad exiting aluminium shop front, waxed for smooth finish.
